Spire Wellesley's one-stop breast clinic provides services to all women who would like to have a breast screening, providing women with quick and easy screening checks that have minimal waiting times for results.
If you're worried about a change in your breast, we can provide a comprehensive service you can trust.
The breast service at Spire Wellesley Hospital, Southend, Essex, is provided by a multidisciplinary team including consultants, radiologists, radiographers and nurses, all with experience in the treatment of breast problems.
Breast Health Check Up
For self-funding patients we offer a fixed fee (dependant on age) personal breast screening package that includes;
- the cost of your initial consultation fee with one of our experienced Consultants
- a series of tests specifically tailored to your individual requirements and circumstances
- a follow-up appointment with the Consultant to discuss your results.
All of the tests you require are usually completed at your first outpatient visit, and you can often get the results the same day.
Tests may include:
- Clinical breast examination
- Mammogram
- Ultrasound scan
- Needle biopsy
- Pathology
For women over 50 years of age we recommend that you participate in the NHS screening programme, which offers you a mammogram every 3 years. If you wish to supplement this with a visit to one of our Breast Clinics 'in-between' then of course we would be pleased to see you to provide added reassurance.
If you are aged under 40, then the clinic visit here will usually involve a consultation with one of our specialists Consultants, but may not involve a mammogram.
Our one-stop breast clinic is available every Thursday afternoon.
