Personal consultation with your independent surgeon – and extensive assessment
We undertake an extensive assessment for all our patients, to understand your specific needs and to help ensure that you are prepared for the change in your life as a result of surgery.
We believe that this helps our patients achieve their ultimate goal – sustained weight loss and quality of life improvement over the longer term.
Range of procedures to meet your needs
At Spire Healthcare we have the skills and capability to offer a wide range of procedures – which means we can offer you the one which best meets your needs. Read more about the bariatric procedures available at Spire: gastric bypass, gastric balloon, gastric sleeve, Orbera™ weight loss balloon, gastric banding and POSE.
Your surgeon can explain the differences in detail and advise on the procedure most appropriate for you.
Surgery at a location convenient to you
When you have any serious operation, having to travel a long way while you’re still recovering can be difficult.
At Spire Healthcare we undertake your surgery where you have your consultation – at one of our hospitals nationwide.
It means you shouldn’t have to travel far to get home while you’re still recovering and your family and friends will be able to visit easily without the hassle and cost of a long journey.
It also means your follow up appointments are more convenient to get to and if you join a weight loss support group you’ll be able to meet people in your area going through the same experiences as you.
With you all the way – from your first appointment until long after your surgery
When thinking about having weight loss surgery it’s important to consider the aftercare you’ll receive after you’ve had the operation as well as what will happen before.
Comprehensive aftercare and support helps patients to achieve their weight loss goals following their procedure. At Spire your dietitian will give you dietary advice, taking into account your previous dietary history prior to your surgery. After surgery, your dietitian will give you ongoing personal support to help you manage your diet.
Your package will also include a number of appointments with your surgeon and specialist weight loss nurse and you will be given a telephone number you can use to access support and advice.
