Specialises in

I specialise in upper limb conditions and problems (shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand) and sports injuries.

I graduated in medicine in 1993 and completed my basic surgical training in south east of England. I was selected for higher specialist orthopaedic training in the North east region before becoming a consultant in Northumbria Healthcare.

I was selected for a national training number in Northern Deanery and I trained as a registrar in various hospitals in the North east. I was awarded two prestigious upper limb specialist units at Wrightington hospital, and Northern General hospital Sheffield. I have also been awarded visiting fellowships from national organisations like British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS) and British Orthopaedics Sports Traumatology Arthroscopy Association (BOSTAA). I have visited and interacted with internationally renowned shoulder surgeons (both keyhole and joint replacement surgeons) in San Antonio (Texas, USA), San Diego (California, USA), Lyon (France) and Nice (France) through these fellowships.

I am actively involved in research, training of junior doctors, allied health professionals (nurses, physiotherapists), education on general practitioners in the region and nationally. I am also a faculty in various regional and national courses for FRCS Orthopaedics, shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty courses. My private practice covers the whole of the north east including Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland.

I have also authored various chapters in many published books/websites for benefit of junior doctors and post graduate orthopaedic trainees.

I currently have clinics on Tuesday afternoons at Spire Washington and am available for choose and book.
