Mr Krishnan is a specialist Orthopaedic surgeon who exclusively performs hip and knee surgery with particular interest in joint replacement. The ethos of his practice is to provide high quality, patient centred care while tailoring the treatment to each individual patient, based on the best possible evidence, which may include surgical or non-operative treatment.
Mr Krishnan completed his basic Surgical training in East Anglia and Midlands before moving to the North East for his Specialist training in Orthopaedics and Trauma. Mr Krishnan undertook two fellowships working with eminent surgeons in distinguished centre of excellence. The first fellowship was in Auckland, New Zealand pioneering in Hip/Knee replacement and Revision hip/knee replacement. The second fellowship was in Bristol, UK to further cement his joint replacement experience and Pelvic reconstructive surgery.
Mr Krishnan took up a consultant post in Sunderland Royal Hospital in 2011. His elective practice includes Hip and Knee replacement and revision surgery. His other interest is in reconstructive surgery following pelvis fracture and complex limb fractures. Mr Krishnan is also an active participant in Surgical Education/Training. He currently runs the monthly Sunderland Fracture Forum for Orthopaedic Specialist Registrar's in the North East. He is a member of the Specialist Training Committee for Trauma & Orthopaedics and is a qualified ATLS instructor.
Mr Krishnan's out-patients clinics in Spire Washignton Hospital are on Friday afternoons.
