As a medical student, Dr Wahie studied at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas’ Hospital (London). This encouraged him to pursue a career in Dermatology. He graduated from King’s College London with Honours in Medicine, Surgery and Pathology. His further Dermatology training was undertaken at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and at University Hospital North Durham, where he now works as a Consultant Dermatologist.
He was awarded an MD for his research into Lupus and has published extensively in several peer-reviewed journals including the British Medical Journal, American Journal of Medicine and British Journal of Dermatology. He has won 3 prizes from the British Association of Dermatologists for his presented work at national meetings. His work has also been presented internationally at both European and American Dermatology conferences. He has been awarded research grants from Lupus UK and the British Skin Foundation and is Research Lead for Dermatology in County Durham and Tees Valley.
