Dr Gee strives to take a holistic whole person view of patients with mental health problems and has a particular interest in anxiety and depressive disorders. He has an appreciation of the often hidden impact of mental health difficulties on day to day life. Dr Gee aims to provide recovery focussed, person centred care around the needs of the individual with consideration to the use of medication, the use of psychological treatments and any other interventions that would be of clinical benefit.Although his main NHS job is the Medical Director of the trust he continues to practice clinically within a community team as well as clinical on call duties.Aside from clinical duties Dr Gee has extensive experience in undertaking external investigations of other health organisations.He has also undertaken medicolegal work in both civil and criminal proceedings since 1998 and is happy to take instructions for medicolegal reports
Having three children at various stages of education always keeps Douglas busy but aside from that he tries to keep fit and has an interest in history.Dr Gee is a member of a local Anglican church.
