We are a small personal unit within the hospital and spend the time with patients giving them all of the reassurance and information they and their families need.
Our services include, Colonoscopies, Flexible Sigmoidoscopies, and Gastroscopies. We are hoping to widen our expertise and are looking to be able to offer an even more varied service in the very near future.
Our Gastroenterologists and Consultant Surgeons are from all of the North East Hospital Trusts and each have a wealth of knowledge and many, many years of experience.
Our urological services include Flexible Cystoscopy, Stent Removal, Urethral Dilation, TRUSS and Biopsy. All of these procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic and/or sedation following discussion with your consultant.
Our day unit offers a wide variety of services including Dermatology where we remove minor lesions and carry out biopsies, excisions and flap reconstruction. We also offer the services of facial maxillary and plastic surgeons who carry out dental procedures as well as obagi peels, chin blocks, blepharoplasties and other minor plastic surgeries.
We offer gynaecological procedures including Llettz, Colposcopy and biopsy, Smears and Mirena Coil fitting.
