Laurence Newman studied both dentistry and medicine at the London Hospital Medical College University of London, qualifying as a dentist in 1981 and as a doctor in 1990. Following training as a Senior Registrar at The Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead he was appointment as a consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and University College Hospital London in 1997. During that time he has developed expertise in the management of benign and malignant conditions of the head and neck both in children and adults. He treats patients across the entire spectrum of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he has developed particular interest in salivary gland surgery. He returned to East Grinstead to take up an NHS Consultant post in September 2008. He is fascinated by law and it's interaction with medicine. He is currently a part-time post-graduate student at Cardiff University studying for an LLM in the Legal Aspects of Medical Practice.
Mr Laurence Newman is a keen skier and guitarist.
