Working at Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital
Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services and facilities in a comfortable and relaxed environment to patients in Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex and the south east. The hospital is staffed by a valued team of highly skilled professionals offering a wide range of specialities. We employ over 180 staff including nurses, theatre staff, radiographers, physiotherapists, medical secretaries, administrators, housekeepers and porters.
This is an exciting time to join our growing team at Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital, as building work is nearing completion on an exciting £4.7 million development that is set to benefit about 20,000 patients from the local area. The project includes an expansion of the hospital’s outpatients department and the addition of state of the art static CT and MRI scanners, heralding a new era for the hospital.
Radiographers in Spire
Radiographers in Spire provide state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging for patients. Whether your training is in MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), CT (computerised tomography), X-ray or ultrasound you will be supporting the consultant’s diagnosis, and helping to speed up the patients treatment. The range of scanning capabilities at Spire means that any body area or structure, bone, soft tissue, veins and blood vessels can be scanned to investigate and determine whether further treatment or investigation is necessary.
Using your clinical reasoning skills you will develop imaging plans that are appropriate to the patient taking into consideration their diagnostic imaging care, risks and wellbeing. As well as preparing the patient and environment appropriately for each imaging intervention, you will accurately maintain records of personally generated clinical observations, imaging and radiation records. You will regularly be dealing with very sensitive patient data and this requires a range of communication strategies based on your analysis and understanding of the patient.
Diagnostic Imaging is an integrated department within our hospitals and your role will involve onward referral for treatment, surgery or advice following the results of scans.
Training and Development
Your training starts on the day you join with a comprehensive induction programme, and leads on to mandatory training including infection control and health and safety competencies.
Your career prospects
You can consider studying for further specialist qualifications and we are keen to promote from within the Spire network so studying for supervisory and management qualifications can help you progress within the company. We offer excellent in-house management development programmes.
