I am a general surgeon specialising in colorectal diseases and disorders of the anal canal. Therefore I am free to see patients that have a variety of surgical problems such as hernias, change in bowel habit, rectal bleeding and faecal incontinence.
I started my training at St Mary’s Medical School and have been trained at the laparoscopic centres of excellence at Frimley Park, Royal Surrey Guildford and St. Thomas’ Hospital. I did my research into MRI and low rectal cancer which was awarded an MD and started the Department of Health initiative ‘Lorec’- a study to improve the outcome of patients with low rectal cancer.
I am an accredited endoscopist(OGD, colonoscopy and removal of polyps). My specialist training in pelvic floor dysfunction allows me to offer patients surgery for rectal prolapse and effective management of evacuatory disorders.
The main services I provide are:
- Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery of the small and large bowel
- Bowel cancer operations
- Inflammatory bowel operations
- Pelvic floor operations
- Hernia repair surgery
- Surgery of the rectum and anal canal (proctology)
I believe that all my patients have the right to high quality, evidence based approach to their care (as my philosophy).
