Mr Kaykhosrov Manuchehri is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon. He worked as an NHS consultant at Stoke Mandeville Hospital from 2003-2014. He qualified from Trinity College Medical School in Dublin in 1991 and following junior medical training in Dublin he began specialist ophthalmology training in the UK in 1994. He completed his higher surgical training in ophthalmology on the West Midland Rotation followed by three fellowships in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery and Medical Retina at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, Oxford Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. His special interests include: Vitreo-retinal surgery, Treatment for age related macular Degeneration, Cataracts and Refractive Surgery, Treatment of Macular holes, Epiretinal membrane Surgery and treatment of Retinal vein occlusion.
Mr Manuchehri is married with two children, a son and a daughter. He enjoys outdoor life and sports, particularly tennis and basketball. He has travelled extensively throughout the world, having visited many countries in all five continents. He has performed charitable work in a couple of countries, having visited Albania to study its healthcare system in 1992 and has helped to set up the public vitreo-retinal service in Ulaan Battaar, Mongolia between 2009-2010 as part of the UN’s Vision 2020 project to reduce world blindness by the year 2020.
