I have been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St George's since completing my specialist and fellowship-level training. I specialise in knee surgery including arthroscopy, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, osteotomy and partial knee replacement for localised arthritis and total knee replacement for generalised arthritis. I am also a visiting consultant at Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court where I treat serving soldiers with lower limb sports and training injuries. Given my military background and extensive trauma experience in the UK and on operational deployments I also specialise in fracture surgery.
Knee conditions treated: Meniscal tears, Cartilage injury, Anterior cruciate ligament rupture, Other knee ligament injuries, Localised knee arthritis, Generalised knee arthritis
Fracture conditions treated: Wrist, Ankle & Hip fractures, Fractures around the knee
Long bone fractures of femur and tibia, Some shoulder, elbow and foot fractures.
As a consultant knee surgeon I perform around 100 knee arthroscopies, 50 ACL reconstructions and 100 knee replacements per year.
In addition to my clinical work I am an also an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor and am on the faculty of the Association for the Study of Internal Fixation (ASIF/AO). I regularly teach medical students and post-graduate junior doctors at St George's.
