Dr Dupe Elebute qualified in Medicine in Lagos, Nigeria and undertook postgraduate training in General Medicine and Haematology in London at St Bartholomew’s, The Royal Marsden and St George’s Hospitals.
She has held Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer posts at St George’s Hospital, the National Blood Service and King’s College Hospital.
Her research into bone marrow failure syndromes was funded by a prestigious Leukaemia Research Fund Fellowship and she was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2002. She has been principal/co-investigator of several clinical trials including a large UK study of the use of prion filters in transfused patients funded by a £1.8 million study grant from the Department of Health. She is widely published in both the scientific and clinical literature.
She has a keen interest in medical education with involvement as Postgraduate Director for Training in the London Deanery and Educational Supervisor at St George’s and King’s College Hospitals.
