I am a Consultant Cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, one of the largest specialist cardiac units in the World. I am an expert in managing patients with a range of cardiac symptoms and conditions and have a special interest in heart rhythm disturbances.
I am an experienced operator who performs simple and complex catheter ablation procedures, using the latest technologies, for all arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation. I am a specialist in implanting all types of cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronization therapy. I also see and treat patients with blackouts, chest pains and high blood pressure and perform coronary angiography.
I graduated from Guy's, King's and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2000 with a First Class Honours Degree in my BSc and undertook my cardiology specialist training at various prestigious hospitals in London where I have worked with world renowned experts. These include the Royal Brompton Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Heart Hospital where I undertook my fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac devices.
My post graduate medical doctorate was awarded from University College London and evaluated strategies to optimise outcomes in patients with cardiac rhythm devices. My pioneering research work was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine National Prize in 2009 and was presented nationally and internationally in Europe and the USA. I have been a finalist in two national young investigator awards.
I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Heart Hospital, University College London Hospital and moved to the Barts Heart Centre in May 2015 following the merger of the two hospitals. I am also an honorary consultant at North Middlesex University Hospital where my practice encompasses all aspects of adult cardiology. Here, I have also established the first ablation service for cardiac rhythm disturbances in North London for the local population.
I pride myself on placing the patient at the heart of my approach. I take the time to make a complete assessment and take particular care to explain all aspects of the consultation and treatment to my patients.
