I am a consultant Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal surgeon who works at Spire Washington Hospital.
I have a passion for the treatment of obesity and type 2 Diabetes. I have extensive experience in the whole range of effective bariatric and metabolic procedures (gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, non-surgical sleeve (ESG), gastric balloon and duodenal switch) in addition to revisional surgery.
I also have a specific interest in the surgical treatment of reflux diseases (GORD) in addition to treatment of hernia and gallbladder issues.
To date I have performed more than 600 Bariatric (weight loss) procedures in Canada and in the UK in both my NHS and private practice. I have also performed more than 1,000 gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy) and more than 1,000 gastroscopies (OGD) in addition to a large number of hernia repairs, antireflux procedures and removals of the appendix (appendicectomies).
I will provide you with an expert and honest opinion regarding your suitability for surgery. I will discuss with you the different surgical options and give you a clear understanding of the surgery, its benefits, possible complications and expected outcomes. I will support you to make an informed decision about your treatment.
I completed my training in General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery in the North West of England (Manchester and Lancashire) in 2014. I was privileged to work in outstanding UGI units in Greater Manchester, Sheffield, Preston and Doncaster.
After completing my training in the UK, I was appointed to the prestigious Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at McGill University in Montreal, Canada (one of the first and pioneering Bariatric programmes in North America, which began Bariatric Surgery in 1962).
In addition to my clinical work I have been involved in teaching and training undergraduates (medical and nursing) and postgraduates (residents, senior house officers and registrars) in England and Canada.
I am actively involved in educational and clinical research and have several presentations and publications in major national and international conferences and journals. I am actively involved in research and I am the principal investigator for two important clinical studies in regards to gallstone treatment in the UK.

I am also a keen runner and enjoy windsurfing with my family. I am also interested in the Arts, especially theatre, literature and music. I love to attend the theatre and concerts when I can.
