I have recently been appointed as consultant cardiologist with a special interest in coronary angioplasty and stenting at The Regional Cardiothoracic Centre, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne. I did my specialist registrar training in cardiology at the Regional Cardiothoracic Centre, Northern General Teaching Hospital, Sheffield, United Kingdom. Subsequently, I spent three years at the world's largest interventional cardiology centre, The Washington Heart Centre at Washington DC, USA.
I consolidated my training in general and interventional cardiology with the world's most renowned interventional cardiologists (Dr M B Leon, Dr Augusto D Pichard, Dr Gary S Mintz, Dr L S Satler, Dr R Waksman and Dr J Laird).
I have written a book and had over 100 publications in international journals.
