My practice mainly involves hip and knee surgery with an interest in young adult hip joint pain. I am one of only a few surgeons that offer hip arthroscopy.

Since becoming a consultant I have developed an interest in young adult hip disorders, many of whom do not need joint replacement and have a condition called Femoro-Acetabular (Hip) Impingement (FAI). I am now able to offer open and arthroscopic hip surgery for the management of this problem. Over the last 10 years I have worked with Dr John Wilson, Anaesthetist.

After graduating from University of Edinburgh Medical School, I undertook surgical training in Edinburgh, followed by Orthopaedic training in Oxford and Edinburgh. I completed my training with Specialist Fellowships in Brisbane, Australia and Edinburgh, and was then appointed as a Consultant in the Arthroplasty Service in Edinburgh.
