    Professional profile:

    Mr Campbell provides the facial deformity and facial trauma lead for NHS Lothian (incl Borders) as well as general oral and maxillofacial surgery. Specifically also the total jaw joint replacement surgery service and post trauma and adult cleft deformity surgery service. Prior to relocating to Lothian in 2011 he provided the head and neck lead skin cancer surgery service for NHS Fife.

    The development of a new surgical technique presented at the UK specialty scientific meeting lead to the award of the Norman Rowe Clinical Prize by the British association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons for 2008.

    He has been an invited speaker at surgical events in USA, South Africa, France and India and has set up clinical trials in USA, Canada, India, South Africa, Botswana, Brazil and remains involved with various surgical projects linked to Scottish Universities.

    Personal profile:

    Mr Campbell is married with three grown up sons and lives in a renovated 17th century cottage beside a beach. Prior to a medical degree he worked as part of the Royal Flying Doctor service as a dentist in outback Australia. He has been involved in the development of new surgical devices and techniques setting up three medical device companies and gained national awards for innovation and regional awards for export.

    Sports that have given pleasure include, judo, hang gliding, kitebuggy/surf when time allows.
