I have had 17 years of consultant experience in Pinderfields Hospital which is an associated teaching hospital of the University of Leeds.

I have developed a wide experience and interest in musculoskeletal medicine by virtue of developing an injection clinic. I am skilled in injection therapy for both the relief of musculoskeletal pain and improvement of function across the full spectrum of joint disease including osteoarthritis (hands, feet, knees etc), joint impingement syndromes (Rotator cuff, frozen shoulder), nerve entrapment eg carpal tunnel, tendinopathies eg DeQuervain’s, tennis/golfers elbow.

I am passionate about bringing innovation to my practice by keeping up to date, but also in maintaining the skills needed to deliver a holistic treatment package.

During my time in the NHS it has been my pleasure to develop the use of biological therapies for inflammatory joint disease and vasculitis, be instrumental in the development of a directly accessible DEXA unit for the assessment and treatment of osteoporosis, and initiate the development of combined clinics with immunology, chest medicine (to improve the outcomes of patients with chest complications of rheumatic disease such as pulmonary fibrosis). I have developed local protocols for the treatment of complex vasculitis.

I and my team have won the NRAS innovation prize.

I hold the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer (Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine (University of Leeds)) in recognition of my role in organising and leading the teaching of Musculoskeletal Medicine to fifth Year medical students. I am clinical supervisor to a specialist rheumatology trainee.
