Mr Shyamal Vyas

Specialist Musculoskeletal and Hand Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons), MSc (Hons), MMACP, MCSP

Specialises in

I studied at St George’s University of London and graduated with a BSc (HONS) in Physiotherapy in July 2013. My specialist training has allowed me to see complex musculoskeletal pathologies, sporting injuries as well as managing complex pain conditions. I also have a specialist interest in hand therapy and hand injury patients which was developed through my senior roles within the NHS setting.

I have vast experience working with the elderly as well as children in different settings allowing me to have a sound understanding of treatment and management of conditions for all age groups. I have competed at a high level in various sports (Athletics, football, rugby, cricket, volleyball etc) while also doing personal training in the gym so have an ample knowledge of treatment and management for sporting or exercise related injuries.

While studying Physiotherapy, I also completed a Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage to enhance my knowledge of the musculature and to widen my toolbox of treatment skills. I worked as a Senior Physiotherapist for 3 years prior to doing a masters degree in Advance Neuro-Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy from King’s College London in 2019. This allowed me to work as a specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist as well as training towards becoming a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) in four different GP surgeries. I am also due to commence my training on doing joint injections from May 2021.

I am a very enthusiastic and active person, at work and outside. I play cricket for three different clubs at a highly competitive level as well as playing 8-a-side football on a regular basis. I am an active member of the gym, training 3-4 times a week to focus on improving muscle strength, endurance and size. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends on a regular basis which helps me wind down from busy work and sporting schedules.
