I have been a Consultant ENT Surgeon for over 11 years and have particular expertise in nasal and sinus surgery, including nose and ear cosmetic surgery, as well as snoring and paediatric ENT. I specialise in ENT surgery in particular, with a special interest in rhinology and paediatric ENT.
My main areas of expertise include cosmetic and functional septorhinoplasty surgery – of which I undertake over 100 procedures per year, as well as sinus surgery, including modern, minimally invasive techniques, such as balloon sinuplasty for chronic sinusitis. I am one of the few surgeons in the UK to specialise in nasal reconstruction and nasal valve surgery, including titanium breathe implants and minimally invasive intranasal Z-plasty surgery.
To date, I have undertaken nearly 1,000 rhinoplasty operations, over 1,500 paediatric ENT procedures (including tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, insertion grommets), over 150 cosmetic ear procedures (including pinnaplasty) and approximately 250 operations for snoring assessment and treatment, carried out over a 10 year period in both the NHS and private sectors.
I am currently a Professor of Rhinology at Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent. I have previously been Clinical Audit Lead for ENT at Queen’s Hospital, and Surgical Tutor jointly appointed between Queen’s Hospital and The Royal College of Surgeons of England (2012-2016), subsequently at Charing Cross and St Mary’s Hospitals (Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust).
In addition to my clinical roles, I maintain various academic appointments, including Visiting Professor in Rhinology/ENT at Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford. I practice privately at Spire Hartswood Hospital, Brentwood, Essex and Spire London East Hospital, Redbridge, Essex.

Research and publications
During my final years of training I completed a higher research degree (MD) in the diagnosis of benign versus malignant laryngeal pathology. I also undertook further training in specialist rhinology units in Chicago and Amsterdam, following which I have developed a clinically based research interest in nasal airflow and the sensation of a blocked nose. I have over 40 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, including several book chapters.
I regularly review ENT articles for Clinical Otolaryngology and Laryngoscope.

I live locally and enjoy the life that Essex offers. I have two lovely daughters who keep me quite busy. In my spare time, my interests include collecting wine, Greek and Indian cooking and using my rowing machine to try and keep fit.
