Specialises in

  • Hernia
  • Liver and gallbladder
  • Lumps and bumps
  • Upper gastrointestinal problems

I am a consultant laparoscopic general/upper gastrointestinal surgeon. I have extensive training in the surgery of the liver and gallbladder disease and was trained in a specialised tertiary hospital in Liverpool. I then had further training in the upper gastrointestinal surgery in West Yorkshire and in a teaching hospital in Hull. Prior to moving to the UK, I was trained in Sri Lanka.

I perform keyhole surgery to remove the gallbladder. I am a very experienced hernia surgeon performing both keyhole and open surgery. I perform a wide range of hernia surgery which includes groin hernia, umbilical hernia, epigastric hernia, incisional hernia and hiatus hernia. I also specialise in repairing very large incisional hernia using the modern technique of abdominal wall reconstruction. I perform gastroscopies to investigate upper abdominal pain, acid reflux and indigestion. I excise all types of lumps and bumps arising in and under the skin.

My training has given me a high degree of experience in treating gallbladder disease (gall stones) with the most modern techniques with an emphasis on rapid access to treatment and recovery. I also underwent further advanced training in keyhole surgery in a specialised hospital in West Yorkshire which enables me to become an expert in the treatment of all groin and abdominal wall hernias, including incisional hernias.

I have special interest in all types of abdominal wall hernia including groin hernias. I am also very experienced in performing groin and abdominal wall hernia under local anaesthetic. My other areas of interest is treating acid reflux including repairing hiatus hernia, gallbladder surgery and surgery for lumps and bumps.

I strive to achieve the highest level of care, providing the very best standard of surgical treatment and patient satisfaction.
