I practise exclusively as a vascular and endovascular surgeon and offer the full range of treatment options (medical management, minimally-invasive therapies and open surgery) for patients with venous and arterial disease. I have a specialist interest in the management of lower limb venous disease (including varicose veins and leg ulceration) and aortic disease. I am a pioneer in keyhole vascular treatments and specialise in walk-in-walk-out procedures for varicose veins and leg ulcers. I use minimally invasive endovascular techniques, such as ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy and radiofrequency ablation.

I studied medicine and received a doctorate in vascular surgery research from the University of Edinburgh. My training in vascular and endovascular surgery was in Edinburgh, Leicester and Adelaide, Australia. I was appointed as a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in Birmingham in 2004. I established the Birmingham Complex Endovascular Aortic Service and act as a European mentor for the minimally-invasive management of complex aortic aneurysms.

I have published extensively on the management of varicose veins, as well as aortic aneurysms, in peer-reviewed medical journals.
