I am a consultant ophthalmic surgeon specialising in cataract and vitreo-retinal surgeries and retinal treatments. My areas of expertise include cataract surgeries (including complex cases with increased surgical risk), floaters, retinal detachments, macular holes and epiretinal membranes. In addition I specialise in the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions, and in treatment with intravitreal injections and/or laser.

I studied medicine at Oxford University, where I won an Open Academic Scholarship from Brasenose College and a number of additional prizes. Since qualifying I have worked in the UK and New Zealand, before sub-specialising with specialist fellowships at St Thomas’ and Moorfields Eye hospitals in London.

I have been appointed by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as the College Tutor responsible for the training of junior surgeons locally.
