I specialise in all aspects of paediatric ophthalmology, and examine and treat children from newborn. I am an experienced squint surgeon and in addition to paediatric squint, have expertise in the surgical management of complex adult squint. In addition to my paediatric specialism I am also an experienced cataract surgeon performing regular cataract surgery at ESH, and have many years of general ophthalmology experience treating adults. This includes diagnosis and management of anterior surface and retinal disease; diagnosis and medical management of glaucoma; minor oculoplastic surgery (removal of lid lumps and bumps, eyelid surgery including blepharoplasty).
I graduated in Medicine with honours from the University of Southampton in 2005. I undertook Ophthalmology training in the Wessex Ophthalmology rotation, which included a period of specialist training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Southampton General Hospital, followed by a Fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital. I was awarded my Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2017 and accredited to the GMC specialist register for Ophthalmology.
I have been working in my current role as Consultant Ophthalmologist at East Surrey Hospital (ESH) since January 2018, specialising in paediatric ophthalmology, adult ocular motility and general ophthalmic conditions including cataract.
I am engaged in the education and training of ophthalmology trainees in KSS deanery, and am proud to be a College Tutor for Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Deanery and an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
