I am an NHS Consultant with over 25 years experience as an Ophthalmology Consultant. I specialise in microincision cataract surgery, corneal and refractive laser eye surgery, and also deal with common corneal diseases, contact lens related conditions and dry eye management.

I qualified from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburgh, South Africa in 1983. I underwent vocational training in family medicine and worked in general practice before returning to specialise in ophthalmology, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 1995. I then undertook a doctoral program at St Thomas' Hospital, London investigating LASIK and PRK laser surgery for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

I am a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and an honorary consultant ophthalmic surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital, London with sub specialty interests in corneal, cataract and refractive surgery.
