I have been a consultant medical ophthalmologist for eight years, working at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge for the past five years and additionally at Moorfields Eye Hospital for the past four years. Addenbrooke's is recognised as a specialist centre for uveitis and I receive both local and regional referrals. Prior to this I worked as a consultant in uveitis and medical retina at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre in central Birmingham. I undertook specialist training at Bristol Eye Hospital for six years, and also completed fellowships in ocular oncology, diabetic retinopathy and uveitis.
I am one of a small number of specialist medical ophthlamologists in the UK. My practice is centered on the management of patients with inflammatory eye disease, uveitis, thyroid eye disease and systemic disease and the eye. This includes patients with systemic inflammatory or autoimmune conditions with ocular manifestations, infections or malignancies with ocular involvement.
I am fully trained in the use of immunosuppression and biologic therapies for ocular inflammation and also have a specialist interest in thyroid eye disease and orbital inflammation. As well as specialised medical ophthalmology I also see patients with more general eye complaints.

I am training programme director for medical ophthalmology specialist training in the East of England and I sit on the Specialty Advisory Committee at the Royal College of Physicians where I act as curriculum lead.
I lead the Regional Medical Ophthalmology service at Addenbrooke's hospital and receive referrals for patients with uveitis and thyroid eye disease from around East Anglia.
Research and publications
I regularly participate in peer review of submitted papers and also contribute to the ophthalmic literature.
I am section editor for uveitis and inflammatory eye disease for the journal EYE.
