I qualified from the University of Bristol in 2004. My early training included time spent working in Australia and I then completed my rheumatology training within the South West region.

I was awarded an MRCP (Rheumatology) in 2011 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2017. I have been a full-time consultant rheumatologist at Bristol Royal Infirmary for six years and have a particular interest and expertise in managing osteoporosis.

My clinical work includes reporting over 1,000 DXA scans each year and delivering a weekly osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease clinic alongside my general rheumatology clinics. I am EULAR (European League Against Rheumatism) accredited to intermediate level in musculoskeletal ultrasound and use this regularly as part of my NHS practice. I see and treat patients with all forms of rheumatic disease and remain up to date with the latest developments in investigation and management. Teaching medical students is another interest of mine. From this I completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education at the University of Bristol in 2012 and have held an honorary senior clinical lecturer post since 2013.

I am experienced in diagnosing and treating rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, polymyalgia rheumatica, SLE, connective tissue diseases, gout and fibromyalgia. I also have significant clinical experience in musculoskeletal joint and soft tissue steroid injections.

I am lead clinician for the rheumatology ultrasound service and adult rheumatology transition service at Bristol Royal Infirmary and share clinical responsibility for the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust osteoporosis service.

In addition to my clinical work I am an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Bristol and specialty tutor for Bristol Medical School undergraduates.
