Linear Shockwave Therapy (LSWT) is a new method of treatment for men suffering from erectile dysfunction (impotence). Spire South Bank Hospital are proud to provide this innovative treatment and we are the first in the country to have this equipment.
LSWT is a new non-invasive therapy that takes advantage of the low-intensity shock waves’ ability to create new blood vessels which therefore improves penile blood flow. This controlled increase in blood flow causes an improved erection.
The advantages of LSWT are:
- Full organ coverage for improved effectiveness
- Shorter treatment protocol – four treatment sessions lasting about 20 minutes each
- Hands free treatment
The device, known as Renova, is the first of its kind. Renova studies have shown an 80% success rate for people who had previously been taking PDE5 inhibitors such as Viagra. For more information visit www.vigore.co.uk.

Mr Terry Chen, consultant urological surgeon, is one of the first consultants in the country to use the Renova device. Patients will have an initial consultation with Mr Chen to assess their suitability for this treatment. This is then followed by four treatment sessions (one per week) with four applications per session.
