Mr Steven Thrush trained at the Royal Free Medical School in London. His general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in respect to managing breast diseases. Over the later part of his training he became active in promoting the expanding role of breast surgeons towards Oncoplastic surgery (combining the management of the cancer with techniques to minimise disfigurement). The ability to correct defects caused by removing both cancerous and benign lumps limits the need for further surgery. The breast service at Spire Parkway Hospital is based around a core team including a specialist breast care nurse, radiologist, oncologist and pathologist. This multidisciplinary approach to patient care provides an efficient and friendly service.
Apart from the management of breast diseases, Mr Thrush has an active involvement in treating Endocrine disease (thyroid and parathyroid) conditions.
