    Background Information
    Professional profile:
I am a consultant vascular surgeon with an NHS Appointment at Worcester since 1994. My arterial practice includes surgery for aortic aneurysms and carotid artery disease. I try to treat patients with intermittent claudication conservatively (non-surgically).

My major clinical and development interest is the treatment of varicose veins. I inject thread veins using microinjection sclerotherapy techniques and am constantly striving to reduce the trauma associated with surgery from truncal varicose veins. Recent developments include the use of tourniquets and pre-operative injection of local anaesthetic and adrenaline to reduce post-operative bruising and pain. I perform my own duplex ultrasound scans in outpatients to improve assessment and treatment planning of varicose veins. In addition to conventional surgery using minimally invasive techniques I offer modern, ultrasound-guided treatments including foam sclerotherapy, Endovenous laser therapy and VNus Closure radiofrequency ablation.

I have recently formed The Vein Clinic (TVC) with my consultant colleague Isaac Nyamekye to improve the access and flexibility of the service we provide.
    Personal profile:
I have lived in Worcestershire since childhood. I was brought up in Worcester and returned in 1994 to take up a consultant appointment locally. I enjoy my practice. Away from medicine, I enjoy sport and spending time with my family.
