Background Information
Professional profile:

Mr Jasmeet Dhir, who was appointed as Consultant Neurosurgeon in University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in 2010, specialises in Spinal Surgery. He did his initially Neurosurgery training in India, and later in West Midlands. He completed a year of Spinal fellowship at Llandough and University Hospital of Wales in complex spine.

Mr Dhir’s is part of Complex Spine Consultant group in UHB and performs a wide range of spinal operations (for degenerative- disc, stenosis, trauma-fractures, tumours- intradural and extradural) including spinal injections. Mr Dhir performs all operations on the spine under microscope, which command a high level of control and focus. Mr Dhir is keen on minimally invasive techniques, which involve accessing spine via small incisions (less trauma to tissue) as apposed to open surgery. He has presented data on the same in SBNS and BASS conferences.

Mr Dhir being Educational Supervisor in University Hospital Birmingham, is heavily involved in teaching and mentoring all Neurosurgical Trainees. He is also member of Speciality Training Committee in West Midland Deanery.
