I am a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and subsequently trained in General Medicine to Registrar level in the UK and New Zealand before starting as a Specialist Registrar in Oncology at Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology on the Wirral in 1994. After a period of post-FRCR training at Christie Hospital, Manchester I was appointed as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton in 2000 with visiting sessions at Kidderminster Hospital specialising in Breast and Colorectal Cancers. In addition to that I have a wealth of experience treating Urological and Upper Gastro-intestinal cancers and have had a significant contribution to research within my sub-speciality interests. In November 2014 I joined the team of Consultant Oncologists at the new Worcestershire Oncology Centre and will be making a significant contribution to development of services there as well as continuing have sessions at Kidderminster Treatment Centre. In addition I have recently been appointed lead in Colo-rectal cancer for the West Midlands section of the new National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network.
I have been private practice at the Nuffield Hospital, Wolverhampton primarily looking after patients with breast, colorectal and urological cancers since 2001. I am also able to continue to see private patients in the Millbrook Suite at the Kidderminster Treatment Centre as well as providing this service at Spire Southbank Hospital.
