After working as a junior doctor in London and Gloucestershire, Dr Andrew White studied for a diploma in tropical medicine before going to working abroad for five years. In Nepal, he worked mainly in tuberculosis control for a Charity called the Britain Nepal Medical Trust. He returned to Gloucestershire and then to Birmingham to continue his specialist training in Respiratory Medicine. Dr White took two years out of training to undertake research into infection in COPD and Bronchiectasis. He then became a consultant based in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in 2004 and has recently started to run a clinic in Cheltenham General Hospital.
