The South Bank Serpants took part in this year's charity Race the Dragon organised by the Worcester Dragon Boat Racing Club.
The team was made up of 16 members, 15 women and 1 man. They had three heat races, but unfortunately came last in every one. But it was their times that counted and considering that it was the first year that South Bank had entered a team and the first time they had all raced together, they did very well to qualify for a further race - which they came third.
The biggest challenge for the team was to try not to come last, which was a triumph considering there were a number of professional rowers in many of the other teams. The South Bank Serpants final place was 12th out of 24 for the plate trophy. But more importantly a fun day was had by all the team and the friends and family that gathered with their picnics by the side of the river to show their support.
