Background Information 
Professional profile:
Mr Guy Sterne graduated from Birmingham University and trained in Plastic Surgery in the West Midlands, Norfolk and Sussex. He undertook specialist training in Reconstructive Surgery of the Breast in the West Midlands and Cosmetic Surgery in Harley Street and London. He was formerly Hunterian Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is on GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.

His NHS appointment is as Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the City Hospital, Birmingham where he specialises in plastic surgery of the breast including reconstruction after mastectomy and is also Clinical Lead Surgeon for the management of skin cancers at Birmingham's Skin Hospital.

Mr Sterne is actively involved in teaching and training, is a member of the Breast Training Subcommittee of the British Association of Surgical Oncologists and is also a member of the Plastic Surgery Teaching Faculty at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has published over 20 papers on various aspects of surgery and has lectured nationally and internationally on plastic surgery.

Mr Sterne offers the full range of plastic surgical and cosmetic procedures with specialist interests in cosmetic breast surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, liposuction and body contouring.

Mr Sterne is Lead Clinician for Plastic Surgery at City and Sandwell Hospitals NHS Trust.

Most of Mr Sterne's time away from work is spent with his wife and three boys on various sporting and outdoor pursuits. He enjoys fishing, playing golf, and is an avid supporter of England Rugby Club.

In addition, he attends occasional art courses and is a BSAC qualified scuba diver.
