The hospital invited children to submit drawings on the theme of staying fit and healthy throughout the year to illustrate their official calendar.
Given recent Government initiatives to promote health and wellbeing, part of the incentive behind the art initiative was to encourage children think about what it means to be fit and healthy and how they would represent this in artwork.
Drawings were chosen to represent a range of activities and have been used to produce striking A4 and A5 format calendars for Spire South Bank Hospital for distribution to GPs and other health professionals throughout the Worcestershire area.
In addition, Spire produced and donated 500 calendars to the school to sell for school funds.
Ben Nicholson, Hospital Director at Spire South Bank Hospital said: “It has been an enjoyable and very worthwhile project for us. It has helped us to build links with the local community, as well as impart a message to younger children about what it means to be fit and healthy.”
