Worcester City Council is committed to public safety and aims via the national Scores On The Doors scheme, to improve food safety and hygiene standards among local businesses providing food and drink. Following their inspections over the past 12 months, they awarded the catering department at Spire South Bank Hospital the highest award of excellent which is 5 stars, showing the highest standards of compliance with statutory obligations and industry codes of recommended practice and conforming to accepted good practices in the trade.
Premises are judged on three criteria set within the codes of practice, namely hygienic practices, the physical structure of the kitchen and confidence in the management of food safety.
