Our consulting rooms and dedicated suite for cardiac investigations include state-of-the-art 2D and 3D cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography), ECG and blood pressure (ambulatory monitoring) and exercise testing facilities.
There are comprehensive facilities for the follow up of implantable loop recorders (ILR), pacemakers (PPM), implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD) and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices.
We have a newly refurbished catheter lab and electrophysiology suite where a wide range of cardiac procedures, such as coronary intervention, atrial fibrillation ablation, left atrial appendage occlusion and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure are performed. The lab team consists of highly trained and experienced staff.
We have four operating theatres, three with laminar flow which allows surgery to be carried out in the cleanest possible environment. We also have a fully equipped and staffed Critical Care Department (including an Intensive Care Unit) for cardiac surgery.

At Spire Southampton Hospital we appreciate that getting to the hospital may be difficult for some people and we have set up satellite consultation clinics at the Highcliffe Surgery, Christchurch near Bournemouth, the New Forest Central Medical Group (Sway and Brockenhurst Surgeries) and Friarsgate surgery, Winchester. Although any treatment required will be undertaken at our hospital in Southampton, initial consultations and follow-up appointments can often be arranged at these GP surgeries instead for your convenience. You do not need to be registered as a patient at these GP surgeries, you arrange the appointment via your own GP who can refer you.
