What conditions do we treat?
As well as certain clinics for specific problems we offer physiotherapy treatment for a wide range of conditions. See the list below for some of the areas we can help with.
At Spire Southampton Hospital we run a Back Pain Assessment Clinic where specialist physiotherapists triage patients in conjunction with spinal surgeons and pain consultants. We also offer a full comprehensive podiatry service with close links to physiotherapy and our foot and ankle surgeons.
We now also offer an assessment in our Biomechanical Gait Laboratory. At Spire Southampton Hospital the Biomechanical Gait Assessment Lab offers a full assessment of your walking and running pattern where our highly specialised physiotherapist or podiatrist uses some of the latest digital analysis equipment and also does a physical examination. Following your assessment you will receive an individual written report with recommendations for further treatment if required, with your chosen provider. The findings will then be discussed with you at the end of the session where you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Our physiotherapists and podiatrists work closely together in the gait lab and have easy access to our consultants.
Do I need a GP referral?
You do not need a doctors referral to be seen by a physiotherapist, but medically insured patients may be required to visit their GP prior to attending. Whether you are insured or not, we're open to everyone.
