Ramsey Cutress studied medicine at Oxford University, where he won the Radcliffe Infirmary Prize for Surgery. He trained in Surgery in Glasgow, Oxford and Wessex, specialising in breast surgery and winning a National Oncoplastic and Breast Reconstructive Fellowship. He now practices as a surgeon exclusively in breast disease and management.
Following appointment as a Consultant in Breast Surgery at University Hospital Southampton, and Senior Lecturer in Breast Surgery at the University of Southampton in 1999, he has led research in the field of breast surgery and breast cancer. He is part of the writing group for the national guidelines for breast oncoplastic surgery, and has been invited onto the faculty of the breast disease advanced course at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
