I have a wide range of academic and research interests, including Journal Publication and Publication Ethics. From 2003 - 2009 I was the Editor in Chief of the EJSO, a major international subspecialty journal in Cancer Surgery, and I was consequently invited by Elsevier Science in 2009 to take up the role of Medical Subject Chair to the SCOPUS Content Advisory Board. SCOPUS is a major citation and research data system which will inform the UK's 2013 - 2014 Research Excellence Framework.
I have served as a Consultant Surgeon to the Defence Medical Services Reserve since 1994, and have a wide experience of the management of the complex trauma and of the organisation of trauma systems from operational service in the Gulf and Afghanistan.
I have a wide ranging Medico-Legal practice. I am pleased to provide reports and assessments on a wide range of subjects within my areas of general and specialist surgical and wider professional experience.
