Mosaic Orthopaedic Care, a leading group of orthopaedic surgeons based in Southampton, has announced continued sponsorship of RYA Sailability at a joint reception held at the PSP Southampton Boat Show.
Gavin Bowyer, a member of Mosaic Orthopaedic Care, said “Mosaic has supported RYA Sailability with sponsorship over the past two years, and we are very pleased to announce our continuing support for the charity, which enables people of all abilities to take part in events on the water.”
In recognition of the importance of this collaboration between Mosaic and Sailability, the reception event was jointly sponsored by Spire Southampton Hospital and PSP, who are the lead sponsor of the Southampton Boat Show.
Funds raised by the charity enable them to support groups all around the UK, developing facilities, training volunteers and encouraging more clubs to become recognised RYA Sailability centres.
The Mosaic surgeons are specialists in orthopaedics, covering all areas of the body. The team of six are all interested in sailing, as are many of their patients. Through their sponsorship of the Sailability charity’s work they have helped keep patients active and involved in sailing, from those whose hips and knees are failing, to elite sportsmen/women with foot or shoulder problems.
Through Mosaic’s support of RYA Sailability, they hope to bring sailing to even more people living with a range of disabilities, so they too can enjoy the benefits of time on the water.
Mosaic Orthopaedic Care is based at the Spire Southampton Hospital and work with colleagues in radiology, imaging, anaesthesia, physiotherapy, podiatry and occupational therapy to provide a team orientated approach to achieving successful outcomes for patients.
