Private Cataract Surgery
Our specialist eye surgeons provide micro-incision modern cataract surgery. Most eye operations are carried out under a local anaesthetic as a day-case procedure. Cataracts are opacities in the lens of the eye which affect the vision making it cloudy, as well as causing glare and loss of contrast sensitivity. With modern cataract surgery the lens is replaced with an artificial lens inside the eye. This quick and effective operation can usually return the vision back to normal again.
At your initial consultation our consultant surgeon will explain the operation and its benefits to you in more detail as well as examining your eyes and taking some measurements for the implant you will need. A wide variety of lenses are now available privately and these can improve your distance and your near vision. We are able to deal with complex refractions.
Private Vitreoretinal Surgery
We are now able to offer day case, suture-less, retinal surgery allowing treatment of all vitreoretinal conditions. We routinely use fully disposable instruments reducing the risk of cross infection. Patients with macula holes, membranes on the retina, retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy and floaters may all benefit from retinal surgery.
