One-Stop Prostate assessment - including Prostate Cancer

Has your bladder been disturbing you recently? Are you concerned about the cause of these symptoms?

Our Prostate clinic allows a rapid access to a comprehensive assessment of your bladder/prostate symptoms. This involves a physical examination of the prostate, a measure of urine flow rate and an ultrasound of the bladder to measure the emptying of your badder. In addition to this your GP will have carried out baseline blood tests of kidney function and prostate (PSA).

The results of this assessment enable us to advise you on the possibility of prostate cancer and whether prostate biopsy is indicated. This can all be carried out at the same clinic visit if required, or arranged at a subsequent visit if more information is required e.g. a repeat PSA test.

Prostate symptoms
- poor urine flow
- hesitant starting
- dribbling towards end of passing urine
- frequent passing urine
- urgent desire to empty bladder
- waking frequently at night to pass urine
If you are experiencing stinging and burning whilst passing urine these require their own investigations, please mention this prior to your appointment.

Before attending your appointment at our prostate clinic you should have had the following tests:
