Making babies is set to become a lot easier for Edinburgh residents when a new IVF clinic opens its doors in April. IVF Scotland, a subsidiary of the Spire Healthcare hospital network will help couples who are having difficulty conceiving. Caitlin Delaney, the Lead Embryologist for IVF Scotland said, ‘We’re dedicated to the provision of highly specialised treatment for couples with fertility problems. Our purpose build Centre is exceptional, the new laboratory and medical equipment will allow us to provide couples with the highest standard of care.’
The team of globally-sourced staff aim to elevate Shawfair to a world leading institute for IVF treatment. IVF treatment is currently available following a lengthy waiting period through the NHS, or by private referral to clinics as far a field as Glasgow or even London. Edinburgh and surrounding area residents will now be able to enjoy the convenience and security of receiving treatment from world class specialists in a private setting much closer to home.
Lead Consultant, Joo Thong who will be looking after patients attending the clinic, ‘The new facility will be fantastic for Edinburgh. Undergoing IVF treatment can be stressful in itself so being able to make private treatment within easy reach of the border towns is going to make the process a little easier.’
