      Musculoskeletal Outpatient and Inpatient Physiotherapist

      Special inter ests: biomechanics assessment, gait analysis, sports injuries

    David qualified as a physiotherapist at Guy's Hospital in London. He then worked for the NHS gaining experience in a variety of specialist areas of physiotherapy before finding his main passion for musculoskeletal, and in particular biomechanics and sporting injuries. David is well qualified in manual therapy as well as assessment and correction of movement dysfunctions. David has a passion for gait and regularly uses gait analysis technology to measure, quantify and inform his physiotherapy assessment and treatment. David is motivated and determined, and he approaches his clients’ problems with a drive to improve in the most full and efficient way possible. 

      Lindsay Fulcher

      Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapist

      Special interests: biomechanics assessments, movement dysfunction, sports injuries, rehabilitation, acupuncture

    Lindsay qualified as a physiotherapist in Hertfordshire. She then worked in the NHS and over several years specialising in musculoskeletal outpatients. Lindsay first worked with elite sports players when providing pitch side physiotherapy support for a well known local football club and later gave voluntary support to athletes during the London Olympic Games. As a keen hockey player Lindsay’s interest in sports physiotherapy continued through the completion of a postgraduate diploma in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. At Spire Roding Hospital Lindsay provides thorough assessment, treatment and rehabilitation tailored to the individual and has a particular interest in movement correction and sports.

      Jacqueline Thorogood

      Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapist

      Special interests: exercise and physiotherapy techniques to support clients through the cancer journey, acupuncture

    Jacqueline qualified as a physiotherapist in Hertfordshire. Following graduation she worked in the NHS and gained experience in all core areas of physiotherapy as well as the specialist areas of burns and plastic surgery and cancer care. After a career break and some international travel, Jacqueline worked as a musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapist in private practice. Jacqueline is dedicated to learning and has completed postgraduate qualifications in acupuncture, Pilates, sports injuries, the foot, chronic pain, the spine and oncology care. Jacqueline is very skilled working with sports injuries and biomechanical dysfunctions and is kept especially busy at Spire Roding Hospital caring for clients through the cancer journey.

      Leanne Harvey

      Musculoskeletal Outpatient and Women’s Health Physiotherapist

      Special interests: biomechanics assessment, movement dysfunction, chronic back pain, manual therapy, pregnancy related musculoskeletal dysfunction

    Leanne qualified as a physiotherapist after completing an MSc in Southampton. She then worked as a physiotherapist in the NHS, and later the private sector in London in the area of musculoskeletal outpatients. Over the years Leanne has dedicated herself to learning. She has completed Masters modules on the lower limb, spine, manual therapy and several postgraduate courses on biomechanics and movement dysfunctions. As well as musculoskeletal outpatients Leanne also has experience and qualifications in women’s health physiotherapy, which includes treating pelvic floor, gynaecological and pregnancy related musculoskeletal dysfunctions and acupuncture. In addition to clinical practice Leanne is the manager of the physiotherapy department at Spire Roding Hospital.

      Raj Selvarajah

      Inpatient and Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapist

      Special interests: post-surgical rehabilitation, acupuncture, paediatrics

    Raj qualified as a physiotherapist in Northumbria. He then worked for the NHS, completing rotations in many different specialist areas of physiotherapy including intensive care, paediatrics, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal outpatients. Raj has completed further training in spinal manual therapy, acupuncture and sports medicine. During his long service at Spire Roding Hospital, Raj has specialised in rehabilitation after surgery. Raj has seemingly endless energy for helping others to heal and improve and is well known for that contagious enthusiasm at Spire Roding Hospital.

      Susan Almond

      Inpatient, Women’s’ Health and Men’s Health Physiotherapist

      Special interests: intensive care, post discharge care, male and female pelvic floor dysfunction

    Sue qualified as a physiotherapist in the 1970’s at the Royal London Hospital. She then worked in the NHS in Bristol and London, spending time mastering more specialist areas of physiotherapy, at more nationally recognised hospitals than it is feasible to mention. These include the challenging and rewarding areas of intensive care, vascular and cardiac surgery, neonatal care, paediatrics, community care, orthopaedics, women’s health and men’s health. Sue is now primarily an inpatient physiotherapist on the wards at Spire Roding, and this wealth of experience means that no stone is left unturned in her care for patients. In addition to the inpatient wards, Sue also treats gynaecology post-surgery patients and men’s health outpatients. Sue is the person that will instantly allow you to feel comfortable and uninhibited when talking about your most personal or intimate problems.

      Alison Hodges

      Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapist

      Special interests: clinical Pilates, movement dysfunction, rheumatology, facial palsy, aquatic therapy

    Alison qualified as a physiotherapist in Cambridge. She then spent several years working for the NHS in London before moving to the private sector. Alison has completed post-graduate qualifications in biomechanics and movement dysfunctions focusing on each and every region of the body with Kinetic Control. She also qualified in clinical Pilates with DMA and through much experience became specialist at hydrotherapy, treating Bell’s palsy and musculoskeletal facial dysfunctions. Alison is dedicated to treating each individual patient in a considered and holistic way. She very much realises the importance of both mind and body, and no problem is too big or too small to be given close consideration in reaching a diagnosis.

      Christine Velterop

      Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapist

      Special interests: clinical Pilates, ergonomics and workstation assessment, aquatic therapy

    Christine qualified as a physiotherapist in London and then started work the private sector. Working in private clinics in Hong Kong, covering clinical and sports physiotherapy, performing home visits and DSE/ergonomic assessments (in offices and schools), as well as covering local and international sporting events including tennis, and rugby at the Hong Kong Tens and Sevens. Since returning to the UK in 2006 Christine has worked in East and Central London private practices. She has completed post-graduate training in Clinical Pilates™ and is one of only a handful of DMA-registered Clinical Pilates™ clinicians in the UK. Christine also has expertise in Aquatic Therapy. Christine’s experience has made her an expert in physiotherapy rehabilitation and getting her clients not only moving, but moving well for injury prevention.

      Emma Bailey

      Sports Massage Therapist

      Special interests: sports massage, holistic massage, pregnancy massage, manual lymphatic drainage, lymphedema treatment

    Emma first qualified as a massage therapist in 2010. Since qualifying Emma has worked with athletes in sports clubs, runners, tri-athletes, gym goers and members of the public who simply fancy a nice relaxing massage. Due to the diversity of the needs of these client groups Emma has further qualified in holistic massage, sports massage, chair massage, pregnancy massage, manual lymph drainage, lymphatic drainage and has completed a diploma in sports injuries. Whether you need massage for injury recovery, prevention, drainage of swelling or just for pleasure Emma is able to tailor a treatment to suit your needs.

      Jo Lawrence

      Neurophysiotherapist (Outpatient and Domiciliary)

      Special interests: Post-stroke / adult neurorehabilitation.

    Jo has specialised in neurological physiotherapy since 1981 and has extensive experience in treating patients with a wide range of neurological conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons and incomplete spinal cord injury. She worked in London and Suffolk in in-patient, out-patient and community settings for the NHS and in the private sector, before taking up her current position at the Spire Roding Hospital. Jo will often see patients from early on in their recovery up to later stages (ie, working towards returning to work, driving, sport and on achieving other individual life goals). Outside of her role at Spire Roding Hospital, Jo is advisor to the Redbridge branch of Different Strokes, a charity for young stroke survivors who meet regularly for exercise participation and social interaction. She is also a member of the Association of Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN).

      Tracey Dennis

      Rehabilitation Specialist

      Special interests: Fitness, weight loss, rehabilitation following surgery, lower limb strengthening

    Tracey completed a degree in rehabilitation in 2014, which she completed part time alongside working at Spire Roding hospital as a Physiotherapy Assistant. Her training has given her the knowledge to identify what a client’s needs and weaknesses are as well as to know exactly what to do in order to work towards a solution. Experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant means that Tracey has gained valuable exposure to clients with different medical conditions and procedures and their implications for rehabilitation.
