Professor Shukri Shami first qualified at Charing Cross Hospital, London, in 1977 and obtained his training in various London hospitals. He became a consultant surgeon in 1995, with a specialism in vascular, colorectal and paediatric surgery.
Professor Shami was a consultant general surgeon at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust until he became a fully private consultant in 2012. He was Clinical Director of Surgery and Associate Medical Director at his NHS Trust, as well as surgical tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons.
Professor Shami has previously been Assistant Professor in Surgery at the Jordan University of Science and Technology and Clinical Director of Surgery and Surgical Tutor at Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust. He has written a book on surgery and is in the process of editing another one on varicose veins.
Professor Shami is a consultant general surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, and Spire Roding Hospital in Redbridge (both in Essex), offering private general surgery in our clean and comfortable hospitals.
