Lumbar discography is an injection technique used to help a surgeon evaluate patients with disabling low back pain, groin pain, hip pain, and/or leg pain that hasn't responded to conservative treatment. The injection is designed to determine if a specific invertebral disc is generating the pain felt, and what the next steps should be (usually a lumbar fusion). Lumbar (lower back) decompression
