I had a knee replacement 10 years ago which served me well until 18 months ago when I fell whilst walking in Macclesfield Forest. This fall resulted in a lot of knee pain, swelling, and tendon and muscles problems.
I had a full body scan to determine the injury and to see if there were other hot spots in other parts of my body. This was very reassuring as it showed I was in pretty good shape apart from my knee!! I undertook several courses of physiotherapy but the situation deteriorated, and I was referred to Mr Mahmud.
I felt totally relaxed with Mr Mahmud as he has a very approachable manner and answered my questions very comprehensively. We discussed my options and decided he would try and help me by operating on the knee cap but that it might be necessary to perform a revision of the knee replacement. We agreed he would do this, but only if absolutely necessary. It transpired that it was necessary, and this has been totally the right decision.
My recovery has been very good and the post operative care from Mr Mahmud and his team has been extremely thorough. I am now in a much better situation than I was at any time with my original knee replacement, and I am able to enjoy the activities I had been missing, like forest walks and activities with my young grandchildren. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Mahmud to others and indeed I have already done so.
